The City recently received notification that its request for funding through Measure B for critical lifesaving equipment was recommended for approval. Final approval is anticipated by the County Board of Supervisors in early 2020.
Measure B is a Los Angeles County ballot measure passed in 2002, which supports Countywide trauma centers and emergency medical services. In 2019, a pool of funds was opened up to local agencies and South Pasadena applied for funding for cardiac monitors and ambulance cots. The City currently has one cardiac monitor that is no longer functioning and ambulance cots over 10 years old and showing significant fatigue. These grant dollars will allow the City to provide a significantly higher standard of care.
This grant is part of a new Grants Management Plan adopted by City Council to prioritize the grant application process to maximize the amount of grant dollars received by the City.
