South Pasadena News and Updates

Clean Power Alliance, in partnership with Calpine Community Energy, is pleased to announce the kick-off of the 2024 Community Benefits Grant. Any 501(c)(3) community-based organizations in CPA’s service territory, including South Pasadena, can benefit from this annual grant opportunity that provides funding for non-profit organizations advancing clean energy, sustainability, and resiliency. In 2023, the grant recipients included Tree People, which helped disadvantaged youth experience inclusive environmental education; The Santa Monica Mountain Funds, which used funds to support the development of the Los Angeles region’s first native seed production farm; and Oxnard Performing Arts Center, which used funds to incorporate solar energy art activities and education into a year-long initiative.

Grant awards will range from $15,000 to $30,000 for a one-year term. Any organization interested in the grant can visit the webpage and tune in to CPA’s webinar on August 14 at 1 pm to learn more about the program. Applications are due by September 13th at 5pm.
