South Pasadena News and Updates

Saturday, March 29, 2025 | 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM | Arroyo Seco Woodland & Wildlife Park (Nature Park)

Join us for a fun day at the 2025 South Pasadena Sustainability Fair!

  • Participate in our Plant Swap—bring a potted and labeled plant and take home a native or low-water-use plant in exchange, thanks to the generous donations from Bellefontaine Nursery, Artemisia Nursery, and Bartlett Tree Experts. Please avoid bringing excess cuttings.
  • Explore South Pasadena’s own superbloom! Join the guided Garden Tours, where you can admire the scenery while learning about native plants. For kids, there’s even more fun with the Story Path and a Nature Scavenger Hunt. Tours are available at 1:45 PM and 3:15 PM.
  • If you’re interested in growing native plants, don’t miss the Growing Native Plants Workshop with acclaimed horticulturist Antonio Sanchez from the Santa Monica Mountains Fund. Learn how to root native plant cuttings and gain tips on growing them from seeds. There are two sessions: 1:30 PM and 3:00 PM.

In addition to all the exciting activities, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about the City’s environmental programs, including water conservation rebates, the gas-powered leaf blower ban, organics recycling, and much more. You can also connect with local environmental organizations to discover new ways to live sustainably.

The event is easily accessible with two entrances: The Upper Entrance is located on the 100 block of Pasadena Avenue, east of York Blvd. bridge, with street parking available. The Lower Entrance is just past the Arroyo Seco Golf Course driving range, accessible via the paved shared-use path at the west end of Lohman Lane, with parking available on Lohman Lane. For those biking to the event, South Pas Active will offer a Bike Valet service, so you can park your bike with ease and peace of mind.

We can’t wait to see you there for a day full of nature, learning, and community! 🌿✨
