South Pasadena News and Updates

The City of South Pasadena will hold a third community meeting to seek public feedback on the Huntington Drive and Fremont Avenue Corridor Improvements Project on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at the Library Community Room, located at 1115 El Centro St.

During the initial community meetings held on February 23 and March 5, 2026, the City received significant input on proposed design concepts for the corridors and factors to consider during the early design phase of the project. A press release announcing the first two meetings was published on February 19, 2025.

The upcoming community meeting will present modified design concepts, which have been adjusted based on public feedback, including project intersection design examples. The meeting will begin with an overview presentation with a Q&A session. Afterward, participants can visit display tables to provide feedback on each concept.

About the Project

The Fremont Avenue corridor spans from Columbia Street to Alhambra Road. The Huntington Drive corridor limits are from Alhambra Road to Garfield Avenue.

Funded by Metro, the project aims to close active transportation gaps by introducing bicycle facilities, improving sidewalks, and upgrading traffic signals to enhance safety, accessibility, and multimodal connectivity.
