Looking for a sustainable way to recycle your holiday tree? Follow these simple steps January 2nd to January 17th:
1. Remove all ornaments, tinsel, lights, and the stand
2. Place curbside on your trash day
3. Athens will recycle your tree and turn it into mulch!
*Flocked and artificial trees are considered trash. Please schedule a bulky item pick-up for these items.

In observance of Christmas, Athens Services will be delayed one day beginning on Christmas Day. For example, if your normal service day is Wednesday, this week it will be on Thursday.

City Hall will be closed from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2024, due to an employee event. The Library will open at 2:00 p.m. instead of its usual time, and the Senior Center will remain open as usual.

All City facilities will be closed from December 25, 2024, through January 1, 2025. We will reopen on Thursday, January 2.
The Library will be close at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 24 and be closed Wednesday, December 25, 2024, through Thursday, December 26. The library will close Monday, December 30, 2024, through Wednesday, January 1.
Both the South Pasadena Police and Fire Departments will have staff available to assist the public. For non-emergency assistance, you may contact the Police Department at (626) 403-7270, while the Fire Department can be reached at (626) 403-7300.

Join us in celebrating the 32nd year of the Spark of Love Toy Drive. The toy drive will be continuing until December 24th. To participate, new unwrapped toys can be dropped off at multiple locations in the city which includes the Fire Station, Police Station, and City Hall. Thank you for making this holiday season special for those who need it the most!
