We are thrilled to extend our heartfelt congratulations to our City for yet another spectacular float in this year’s Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade. The creativity and dedication showcased by the South Pasadena Tournament of Roses Committee earned them the prestigious Founder’s Award.
As we bask in the success of this year’s float, the South Pasadena Tournament of Roses is already gearing up for the next exciting chapter. We invite residents and artists alike to contribute their imagination to the 2025 South Pasadena float. The theme for the upcoming year is “Celebrate Life’s Special Moments,” encouraging participants to explore and depict moments that excite, motivate, and fill us with joy. To kick off the design process, a simple black and white sketch, no larger than 8.5” x 11”, is all that’s needed at this initial “concept” stage. Multiple submissions are welcomed, and designs will be judged based on their relevance to the parade theme, practicality, and popular appeal.
If you have a vision to share, visit sptor.org/Volunteer to access the entry and release form. Completed documents can be mailed to the South Pasadena Tournament of Roses Design Committee at P.O. Box 3662, South Pasadena, CA 91031, or dropped off at the South Pasadena Chamber of Commerce, 1121 Mission St., South Pasadena, CA 91030. Remember, the deadline for submissions is Jan. 26, so mark your calendars and ensure your entries are postmarked or received by 5 p.m. on the same day. Let’s keep the spirit of creativity alive and make the 2025 float another testament to South Pasadena’s vibrant community and artistic prowess. We can’t wait to see the magic unfold on January 1, 2025!
Did you know that the City of South Pasadena’s float in completely self-built by volunteers? This is why support of the float is important! There is still time to support this year’s “Boogie Fever” float by participating in the SPTOR Auction.

String lights are considered “Tanglers” and are a special class of everyday objects that put a major strain on the recycling process. These non-recyclable items wrap around machinery meant to sort and separate materials. When this happens, the entire system must be shut down in order to remove the Tangler.
Please dispose of electrical wires/cords and string lights at a disposal center. Visit LACitySan.org/SafeCenters to locate one near you.
