The South Pasadena 2022 Year In Review has launched!
The City Manager is proud to share the 2022 Year In Review, themed “Building Back Stronger.”
In this document, you will find various accomplishments this year from all City departments and a preview of things to come.

There will be a Special Meeting and Regular scheduled City Council Meeting on December 21, 2022 to be held in the Amedee O. “Dick” Richards Jr., City Council Chambers, located at 1424 Mission Street, South Pasadena CA, 91030. The Special Meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. as well as Public Comment for the agenda items only on the Special Meeting Agenda. The Special Meeting agenda includes the City Council reorganization and installation of electeds. Outgoing elected Councilmember Diana Mahmud and City Treasurer Gary Pia will end their terms, and be recognized for their service.
Mayor Michael A. Cacciotti will transition to the City Council, and incoming Councilmember-elect Janet Braun and incoming City Treasurer-elect Zhen Tao will also be sworn into their roles as elected officials.
The Regular City Council Meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. for regular business and General Public Comment before the newly seated Council, and Closed Session will follow the Regular Meeting.
The City of South Pasadena welcomes community members and the media to attend both meetings, and enjoy refreshments during a reception after the elected installation. The reception will take place at the City Hall Courtyard located at 1424 Mission Street, South Pasadena CA, 91030. Happy Hanukkah to all in our community that celebrate. 🕎✨
City Hall will be closed from December 26th through January 2nd. We will reopen on Tuesday, January 3rd.
The Library will be closed from December 25th through December 29th. The Library will be open on December 30th, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Saturday, the 31st, 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and closed from January 1-2. The Library will reopen on Tuesday, January 3rd.
Both the South Pasadena Police and Fire Departments will have staff available to assist the public. For non-emergency assistance, you may contact the Police Department at (626) 403-7270, while the Fire Department can be reached at (626) 403-7300.
For any emergencies, please call 911.

Great news! Each household can place one order for four free at home COVID-19 test kits through the U.S. Postal Service. The orders will begin to ship out next week.

Pasadena Humane Society is looking for large dog foster homes for the holidays. If you can open your home to a shelter dog for a short time, please reach out to foster@pasadenahumane.org to make a difference in a dog’s life this holiday season.

The City is seeking qualified, diverse candidates to serve on City commissions and boards. Commissions serve as advisory bodies to review City policy issues and provide policy recommendations to the City Council.
Requirements include being a South Pasadena resident and those who are registered to vote. There are currently vacancies in the Community Services Commission, Public Art Commission, and Library Board of Trustees.

Join us at Garfield Park for a FREE Electric Leaf Blower Demonstration event on December 13, 2022! Our team will be at 1000 Park Avenue between 8 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
We look forward to seeing our community there to learn about the ban on gas-powered leaf blowers in South Pasadena.
