The HOO aligns with the State Public Health Officer’s August 18, 2021 Order Beyond the Blueprint for Industry and Business Sectors regarding Indoor Mega Events.

Gas-powered leaf blowers are on their way out of South Pasadena! An ordinance to ban gas-powered leaf blowers was introduced to City Council and is expected to be adopted at the September 1, 2021 Council meeting. Join this free webinar to get a head start on learning how to ditch that noisy, polluting, gas-powered leaf blower and learn how to transition to low-noise, zero-emission electric landscaping equipment! The City of South Pasadena, in partnership with the American Green Zone Alliance (AGZA), will be hosting a free Zoom webinar, “Transitioning to Electric Landscaping Equipment,” on August 26, 2021 at 7pm. Residents can learn how to transition from gas powered landscaping equipment, such as leaf blowers, to electric powered equipment. AGZA will discuss the air and noise pollution issues with gas powered equipment, the electric equipment that is currently available, and the cost comparison between gas and electric. Beginning Friday, August 20th, the Library will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. To enter the library building, customers ages 2 and up must wear a covering over their mouth and nose at all times. The Children’s Room is following guidelines for youth settings. Capacity is limited and physical distancing is still mandatory. Children’s Room visitors should stay with their household members and maintain 6′ of distance from others. In other parts of the library, it is recommended that visitors maintain six feet of distance from people not in their household. Customers should not enter the library if they have symptoms of COVID-19 (cough, difficulty breathing, fever, or chills). Library hours: Monday through Thursday, 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday closed. For more information visit the Library’s website.

Los Angeles Department of Public Health (LADPH) mobile vaccination clinic will take place at Library Park (1115 El Centro Street ) on August 26 4:00pm-8:00pm to provide FREE COVID-19 vaccines to anyone 12 and older. To participate in this vaccination clinic, you would need to bring proof that you are age 12 or older, by bringing items such as a driver’s license, California ID Card, passport, or birth certificate. Participants ages 12 – 17 will need to be accompanied by a parent/guardian to get vaccinated. Don’t have a form of ID? A self-attestation form will be given to you on site.
