A hybrid in-person/virtual Housing Element Community Meeting will be held on Thursday, February 9th, 2023, from 6:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. to discuss the 5th Housing Element draft. City staff and consultant (project team) will present an update on the City’s progress in addressing comments received by the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD). The project team will be on hand to listen, receive comments, provide additional information, and answer questions.

You can participate in the community meeting in-person or virtually via Zoom. As always, we appreciate your interest in the City’s housing policy initiatives.

City of South Pasadena Social Services and Social Justice Team is pleased to present Brock Milhorn as the South Pasadena area representative for VPAN. VPAN will help connect any Veteran and their family members with services regardless of discharge status.

Join us this Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. for a City Council Meeting!

The meeting will include a special presentation of a certificate of appreciation to the late Clara Richards, a dedicated community member in South Pasadena.

In addition, there will be a Proclamation declaring February 2023 as Black History Month in the City of South Pasadena, staff introductions, regional group appointments by the Mayor, and more!

South Pasadena children and teens (grades K-12) are encouraged to use their imagination and create a one-of-a-kind bookmark with the upcoming 2023 Summer Reading Program theme “Find Your Voice” or that promotes books, reading and/or libraries. Contest forms are available on the website at www.southpasadenaca.gov/children or can be picked up in the Children’s Room.

Bookmark Contest entries must be delivered to the Children’s Services desk at the South Pasadena Public Library, located at 1100 Oxley Street in South Pasadena, by Wednesday, March 1, 2023. Entries will be judged according to four age categories. Winners will be announced in late April in honor of National Library Week. Winning entries will be reproduced as bookmarks by the Friends of the South Pasadena Public Library and will be distributed during the summer of 2023. All entries must have a parent or guardian signature as approval for the bookmark artwork to be submitted to the Bookmark Contest.
