In observance of the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, the following closures will be taking place:
City Hall and facilities including the Recreation and Senior Center will be closed from November 23 to November 25, 2022.
The Public Library will be closed from November 24 – 25, 2022. The Library will be open from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM on Wednesday, November 23, 2022.
The South Pasadena Police and Fire Department will have staff available to assist the public. For non-emergency assistance, you may contact the Police Department at (626) 403-7270, while the Fire Department can be reached at (626) 403-7300.
Join South Pasadena Sustainability at the South Pasadena Nature Park on November 19 from 10 AM to 11:30 AM. This is a free event hosted by Los Angeles County Public Works. At this FREE workshop, you will learn the basic techniques of backyard composting, worm composting, water-wise gardening, and edible gardening. No reservations are needed. After the workshop, there will be discounted compost bins available for purchase!
This month, the Nature Park Volunteer Day (9 AM – noon) will be occurring on the same day! There will be an opportunity to participate in both events.
Where: Parking and entrance to the park are on 100 block of Pasadena Avenue in South Pasadena, east of York Street Bridge. The workshop will be held in the park on the eastern side near the golf course driving range and the bicycle/pedestrian path.

A federal grant is providing the opportunity to upgrade traffic signals on Fair Oaks Avenue between Columbia Street and Huntington Drive. Concurrent with traffic signal improvements will be opportunities to improve curb ramps, sidewalks, and crosswalks to provide ADA compliance and improve pedestrian safety, median nose reconstruction where needed, and pedestrian detection devices along Fair Oaks Avenue.

Median nose modifications
Fiber Optic Connection to the Public Works Office
Provide feedback by attending the November 15, 2022 Mobility and Transportation Infrastructure Commission Meeting (MTIC) at 6:30 PM at the City Council Chambers, located at 1424 Mission Street. You may also visit the MTIC website for additional outreach meetings and surveys.

Starting tomorrow, you may visit one of our voting centers in South Pasadena including the Library Community Room (1115 El Centro Street) and the War Memorial Building (435 Fair Oaks Avenue). There is also a drop-box for your ballot right in front of City Hall (1414 Mission Street).
